Some of Haston's notable climbs include the Eiger Direct with John Harlin II, Annapurna South Face with Chris Bonington, and Changbang with Bonington and Doug Scott. Haston died in 1977 after being caught in an avalanche while skiing in the Alps.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs Doug Scott writes in the introduction, this book mainly deals with Haston's climbing, and offers little insight into his personal life and psyche.
