This is a revised edition of a book first published in 1961.
And it has that feel, to be honest. Although this book covers lots of terrain in a good amount of detail, most of it is long text descriptions and very few illustrations. Considering the Montana "no-publish" ethic and Glacier NP's disgusting reputation for loose rock and scary situations, we're lucky to have this guide at all. But don't expect a modern, Supertopo-style thing. This guide leaves plenty of room for adventure, sandbagging, and epics.
