A Climber's Guide to the High Sierra by Hervey H. Voge (1965)
A Climber's Guide to the High Sierra by Hervey H. Voge (1965)
Second revised edition of this iconic California climbing guide. The Yosemite chapter from the first edition has been removed and incorporated into a second guide, Steve Roper's A Climber's Guide to Yosemite Valley (1964). This volume retains all the information for the rest of the High Sierra, including some coverage of "knapsack routes", as the book calls them - hiking and backpacking trails. Covers many iconic climbing areas, including the Evolution area, Kings Canyon, and Mount Whitney.
298 pages, black-and-white. A couple photographic plates up front, and a handful of maps and pen drawings throughout the rest of the book. Dust jacket in good condition with some wear, encased in protective vinyl.
