A biography of Annie Smith Peck, Queen of the Climbers.
Annie Peck was a remarkable woman in the early history of mountaineering, which is hugely dominated by men. She is most famous for her (disputed) first ascent of Huascaran in Peru, at the time thought to be the highest peak in South America (now we know it is the fourth-highest).
This book looks quite interesting and is on my own to-read list.
