This book is signed by Sir Edmund Hillary on the title page. The signatures were collected by Michael Chessler in 2007, only a few months before Hillary's death on January 11, 2008, at the age of 88. Some shakiness can be observed in Hillary's hand.
300 pages, hardcover first edition, first printing with complete dust jacket. Some weakness to front hinge, light foxing (age spots) to edges of text block and occasionally on interior pages, especially near photographic plates. 48 photographic plates throughout, most b&w but a few in color. Includes several appendices with technical details of the expedition.
