This volume compiles four books from two authors who were climbing partners. Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker were cutting-edge Himalayan alpinists who disappeared together on the North Ridge of Everest in 1982. Their names are now attached to the prestigious Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature, an ongoing prize named in honor of their contributions to climbing literature - compiled all together in this one large volume.

This omnibus includes Savage Arena and Everest the Cruel Way by Joe Tasker; Peter Tasker contributes The Shining Mountain and Sacred Summits.

Hardcover book with dust jacket in vinyl; also features the cover image printed directly on the boards, a bit unusual. Each book is page numbered individually - adding up to some 880 pages of text. When counting photos, spacer pages, and the list of Boardman Tasker prize winners at the back, this book surely exceeds 900 pages. Excellent bang for your buck here.
