Climbs in the Horuntinder, Norway (1933)
Climbs in the Horuntinder, Norway (1933)
Yup, 1933. Nearly a 100-year-old guide. By Asbjørn Gunneng and Boye Schlytter.
Although quite a bit more primitive than we are used to these days - this is still very recognizable as a climbing guidebook; it has everything from a description of the lodging options in the nearby town, a sorting of routes from easy to difficult, and even labeled route photographs and a laid-in map in the back. Pretty cool.
This English translation is based off a 1928 Norwegian version. 23 numbered pages and nine blank pages for notes. Includes large and handsome topographic map folded into small pocket in the back cover. Hole in back cover and first page inside back cover. Water damage throughout but does not affect readability.
