Awesome, thorough book illustrating the history and significance of the Eiger. Mostly concerned with the North Face, of course. Edited by Swiss journalist Daniel Anker, the book is buttresses by many historical photographs and newspaper scans, along with guest essays written by many contributors to the history of the Eiger.
This book brings the classic The White Spider a little more up to date, and rounds out the story, context and significance of the mountian a little more - including chapters on the significance of the Eiger in Japan, and the Nazi connections of the original 1938 route up the north face.
