Book describing the 1988 four-man climb of the East Face of Mount Everest by Stephen Venables, Ed Webster, Robert Anderson, and Paul Teare. Teare was forced to turn back, but Venables, Webster, and Anderson all reached the South Summit without the use of oxygen, and Venables alone made the true summit. Through a perilous and delayed descent the team made it down safely. This climb is also discussed in Ed Webster's book Snow in the Kingdom.
