Edited by James Pickering but most text and photography by Frederick Chapin. Old-school writing about Colorado mountains. This volume includes Chapin's Mountaineering in Colorado: The Peaks about Estes Park (originally published in 1889), and accompanies that work with various other journal articles and essays Chapin wrote about his other mountain travels in Colorado. A nice book for those curious about old-school mountaineering and/or Colorado history. 229 pages, with index and many small black-and-white plates.
