Not nearly as single-minded as the climbing books of today, this one places the Wyoming climber in her true milieu: an environment which is rugged, varied, and individual. In a chapter on the Snowy Range (famously obscure), Bonney writes: "The absence of pitons on a route you put up is no proof it's a 'first', the last guy there may not have scared so easy."
Hardcover in good condition. The book itself is solid, but the dust jacket is pretty fragile with some missing chips and a long split between the front cover and inside flap. Now protected in a mylar Brodart. 528 pages, with index, bibliography, and list of 13,000'+ peaks in Wyoming. Many maps, illustrations, and photos throughout.
