The memoirs of Lou Whittaker, a fixture in the PNW climbing scene, particularly on Mount Rainier, where he worked for many years as a mountain guide. Whittaker also has ascents in the Himalaya to his name, including climbs on K2, Everest, and Kanchenjunga. His twin brother Jim Whittaker was the first American to stand atop Mount Everest.
