The first English-language reference book to Patagonian climbing. Kearney recounts the stories of notable expeditions (including his own), and assembles some basic info about climbing in the area. A couple topos illustrate the most important routes. Before the publication of this book, this information was limited to alpine journals.

This book is a mix of history, narrative, and guidebook. Long since supplanted as a guidebook by Rolando Garibotti's excellent Patagonia Vertical, this book has great value in that it collects all the classic history and stories from the early years of Patagonian climbing. Those chasing down obscurities will find the bibliography of sources and FA index particularly useful.

Hardcover book with dustjacket, perfect condition. 143 pages, with several inserts of gorgeous, full-color photographs.
