This book grew out of the Sierra Club Climber's Guide to the High Sierra. This was supposed to be the third edition of that book, but became too large to fit the Sierra Club Totebook format. So we got a split: this Mountaineer's guide covers the non-technical hikes and climbs up to class 4, while the 1976 third edition Climber's Guide to the High Sierra by Steve Roper covers the technical climbing, pitons and slings and whatnots.
This book is the classic Sierra Club totebook format 356 pages, with a couple of blank pages at the back for notes. Text descriptions, maps, and overview sketches throughout.
