A Blind Man's Journey to Kayak the Grand Canyon. Co-written by Buddy Levy. Erik Weihenmayer is one of the world's leading blind climbers. After a degenerative eye disease struck his eyesight at a young age, he still managed to live a life of adventure, including climbing the Seven Summits (chronicled in his previous book, To Touch the Top of the World), and here, making a complete kayak descent of the Grand Canyon. Erik's an impressive guy and a real-deal climber. I've run into him a couple times out and about in Eldorado Canyon - "watch out," the first guy down the trail or at the belay will say, "the guy coming up after me is blind!"
Hardcover, 460 pages. text with photographic inserts. Signed "Reach" on cover page by Erik with Sharpie. And actually signed again, same message, on the next page.
