Although less well-known today, Dennis Gray was a contemporary of Joe Brown and Don Whillans — the working class boys who pushed the standards in British mountaineering through the 1950s and 1960s. This book tells his stories of those days, including expeditions abroad and the perennial winter trips to go scrapping in the Scottish highlands.
