The Fall 2026 issue of Summit Journal, the best print publication in climbing (in my opinion). Editor Michael Levy, who re-launched the publication a couple years ago, has brought an excellent editorial sensibility and eye to the magazine. These are new copies, purchased directly from the publisher.
Each issue comes with two covers - one illustrated and one photographic. Which one you get is random. The interior contents are identical.
This issue features, amongst many other excellent words and images:
- A profile of Steph Abegg, whose name should be familiar to any climber who has googled for beta on a route in the past ten years.
- A profile of Beaver, the Talkeetna Air Taxi cat (featured on the illustrated cover)
- A photographic essay on Scottish winter climbing
- A long feature on Michael Kennedy, American alpinist, former editor-in-chief of Climbing Magazine, and the father of the late Hayden Kennedy.
144 pages, large format and full color.
