Kurt Diemberger's book describing his experiences with K2, leading up to and mostly involving the 1986 disaster in which Julie Tullis and four other climbers lost their lives. Diemberger was one of only two climbers to return to Base Camp from that sortie. Eight others would die that season on K2, bringing the death total to 13 for the "Black Summer."
