Iconic 1980s guide to rock climbing in RMNP. First edition printing with the Columbine on the cover (2nd edition does not have the flower on the cover). Inscribed from Dick Dumais to Steve Komito: "To Komito, with fond memories of the great days on Sestograd. DuMais."

I've climbed a lot in RMNP. I randomly cracked this book open; first route I saw was the "Powell-Thatchtop Ice Field", which is described as the "Permanent snow/ice patch above Sky Pond". As I can tell you, or any of the hundreds who climb the Petit Grepon every summer, summer - there is no longer a permanent snow/ice patch there. The times, they are-a-changin… or… This book WAS famous for being inaccurate with pitch and route descriptions, even when contemporary.

Book is in good to fair condition, obviously used by plenty of grubby hands, but binding is still intact. 214 pages, describing 282 routes. Includes black-and-white photos with route lines drawn on top, and a few topographic maps.
