Autobiography from British climber Paul Pritchard, who suffered a serious head trauma while climbing the Totem Pole sea stack in Tasmania. The book describes some of Pritchard's climbs leading up to the Totem Pole, and then his journey to survive, recover from, and process his very serious accident.
This book won the Boardman-Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature in 1999, Pritchard's second time winning the prize (Deep Play in 1997).
